Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 October 2026
These Terms govern the use of Ryd – the app for managing expenses, budgets, wealth and shared expenses – and of the website ryd-app.it. By using Ryd you accept them. Please also read the Privacy Policy.
1. Who provides Ryd
Ryd is developed and run by Dario Rossi, a private individual ("we"). Contact: info@ryd-app.it.
2. The service
Ryd lets you:
- record accounts, transactions, budgets and categories;
- keep track of investments and assets and see how they perform;
- split expenses with other people in shared groups;
- import transactions from files, with the analysis done on your device;
- save your data in the cloud to use it on several devices.
Ryd is free. If we introduce paid features in the future, they will be optional and shown to you with their price before any purchase.
3. Ryd is not a financial service
- Ryd is a tool for organising information that you enter. It does not provide financial, tax or legal advice and does not recommend investments.
- Ryd is not a bank, broker or payment institution: it does not hold money, make payments, or buy or sell financial instruments.
- Prices, exchange rates, returns, capital gains and taxes shown are estimates based on your data and on external sources that may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. For important decisions and tax returns, rely on the documents from your bank or broker and, if needed, a professional.
- Transactions imported from files are proposed automatically and may contain errors: check them before saving.
4. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Ryd.
- You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity carried out with your account.
- If you think someone has accessed your account, change your password and write to us.
5. Your data and content
- The data you enter remains yours. You only grant us the right to store and process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You can export and delete it whenever you want.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for having the right to enter other people's data (for example the names of group members).
6. Shared expenses
- Group balances are calculated from what members enter. Ryd does not check that payments actually took place.
- Repayments happen outside Ryd, by the means you choose (bank transfer, Revolut, PayPal, cash). Ryd takes no part in payments and is not responsible for disputes between members.
- The payment details you enter in your profile are shown to the members of your groups and to anyone who opens your invitations. Only share an invitation with people you trust.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use Ryd to:
- carry out illegal activities, fraud or money laundering;
- enter other people's data without the right to do so, or content offensive to other members;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, bypass security measures, or overload or probe the servers without authorisation;
- copy, modify or redistribute the app, except as permitted by law.
8. Inactivity
If you don't sign in to Ryd from any device for 60 days in a row, the cloud copy of your data is deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy. We warn you by email 7 days and 2 days before. The data on your phone stays as long as the app is installed.
9. Suspension and termination
- You can stop using Ryd and delete your account at any time, from the app or by following the instructions at ryd-app.it.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these Terms, or to protect other users. Except in urgent cases or where the law requires otherwise, we will tell you in advance and explain why.
- If we decide to discontinue the service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data.
10. Availability and changes to the service
We do our best to keep Ryd working and secure, but the service may be interrupted, for example for maintenance or because of problems with providers. We may improve or change features over time. Features that use third-party data (such as market prices) may change or stop working if the sources change.
11. Liability
- Ryd is provided free of charge. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage or for losses arising from decisions taken on the basis of the data shown in the app, from errors in data entered or provided by third parties, or from use of Ryd in breach of these Terms.
- These limitations do not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence or to personal injury, and they do not limit the rights you have by law as a consumer.
12. Intellectual property
The app, the Ryd brand, texts and graphics belong to us or to their respective owners. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices. If you download Ryd from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement (Licensed Application End User License Agreement) also applies to the licence to use the app.
13. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms. For important changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days in advance. If you disagree, you can delete your account before they take effect; by continuing to use Ryd you accept them.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and you can bring proceedings before the courts of the place where you live. Before starting legal action, please write to info@ryd-app.it: we will try to find a solution together.
